How to find Disney World dining cancellations
Why sold-out Disney World restaurants open up again, when cancellations tend to appear, and the fastest way to catch one before someone else books it.
The short answer
Disney World restaurants that look sold out open up again whenever another family cancels or changes plans, and each cancelled table goes back on sale on its own. Most restaurants let guests cancel for free until 2 hours before, so openings can appear any day up to the day itself. The way to get one is to check very often or use an alert that checks for you: openings are usually booked again within minutes.
Why tables come back
Families book far ahead and then change plans: a park day moves, a trip shortens, someone books two restaurants and keeps one. With free cancellation until 2 hours before for most restaurants, there is little reason to hold a table you no longer want, so they come back steadily.
When to look
There is no single magic hour, but two moments are worth knowing: the days just before a date, when trips are finalised, and the last day, as the 2-hour free-cancel deadline approaches. A resort guest's 10-night booking also releases days they drop when their plans firm up.
Check for your exact party size. A table for 2 and a table for 5 are separate inventory, so a restaurant can be open for one and full for the other.
